If they are calling from a 3rd party collection agency, all you have to do is ask them not to call you at a specific number, and by law they can't.

That is not always the best thing to do, however. If you limit they amount of access they have to you, they are more likely to consider your account for lawsuit.

Does the phone bill show you all numers dialed?

It depends on if your on a cell phone or on your house phone. On cell phones, some people have a certain amount of minutes that are free. Cell phones also have certain times at night that it will not cost you anything. Cell phones can also have free weekends if you get that. Your house phone always shows long distance phone calls and sometimes your phone shows local phone calls. It really depends on what kind of plan or phone you have got.

Do bill collectors have the right to call you at work?

A debt collected can contact you at your place of employment, unless their know that your "employer" prohibits such personal calls {15 USC § 1692c(a)(3)}, which is not the same has the rule covering communications during a time or place known to be "inconvenient" {15 USC § 1692a(1)}. This means that your "employer" must be the one that prescripts that such calls are forbidden, not you.Now in practice, most collectors if they receive a letter saying that your employer "prohibits" personal calls and they would generally stop trying to reach you at work - even if your lying.Edit: I feel that the point of this website is to help people and expand knowledge.
