As far as light can travel
The main friends that Dorothy Gale found in The Wizard of Oz were the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion. But Dorothy was also befriended by the Good Witch of the North, who advised her to take the Slippers of the Wicked Witch of the East, and to seek the help of the Wizard of Oz. Boq the Munchkin, and the familynear the Emerald City, each offered the hospitality of a night's lodging and food. The Queen of the Field Mice helped Dorothy and her three friends rescue the Cowardly Lion from the deadly poppy fields. The Stork helped the four friends rescue the Scarecrow from where he was stranded in the middle of a deep, wide stream. The Wizard of Oz helped boost the self-confidence of the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion by purporting to give to them what each one already had. And, albeit unsuccessfully, he tried to help Dorothy and Toto get back home. The Winged Monkeys helped the five friends with needed transportation. And Glinda the Good Witch of the South saw to it that the three friends were transported safely to their respective kingdoms, and that Dorothy and Toto got back home.
