The color white reflects all wavelengths of the visible spectrum. That is why it is the brightest color.
A brown color is a color combination of red, orange and green--those colors are not adjacent in the visible colors of a rainbow so they do not combine to form a visible brown. The colors which normally make up the BROWN color, however, ARE ALL PRESENT in a rainbow, but are not present in the color combination we call brown. Note: I found this statement in the Ask a Scientist Physics Archive at http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/phy99/phy99125.htm On a computer or TV display, brown is generated as a sort of dim yellow or orange.
Violet (purple) is the highest energy color in the visible spectrum. It has a wavelength of about 400nm (4x10-8m), the lowest of all visible light.
Red is the longest wavelength of visible light
The color red is the longest wavelength in the visible light spectrum because the less energy a wave carries the longer the wavelength and red carries the least energy of all the colors in the visible spectrum
There are an infinite number of colors of visible light, and ALL of them are present in a rainbow.
Visible light includes any color that the eye can see.

Visible characteristics are characteristics that are visible. Haha no but they are your outside features.

No. It can vary from the visible color of the mineral and, since visible color of them ineral is not a reliable indicator of type, it is important to learn to use streak, (along with other factors), to correctly identify a mineral.

Gas is only visible by having a certain color: Chlorine: greenish yellow, Iodine: purple, Bromine: redish brown. No color, not visible.
