There is no official record that Dwight Eisenhower's nose was broken. However Eisenhower did play sports and he was very competitive. In this context, he played football against the legendary Jim Thorpe and injured his knee during a game. Eisenhower tackled Thorpe during a match up between Carlisle and Army. The resulting injury would carry over into other athletic fields, effectively ending a sports career.
