what role did lob play in the pengelly family
In a small village
Lob travels about 750 miles from London to Cornwall to reach the Pengelly family after his owner returns to Liverpool.
In "Lob's Girl," Lob wants to stay with the Pengelly family because they show him kindness and love, giving him a sense of belonging and family that he had been missing. He forms a strong bond with the family and feels happy and accepted with them.
Yes, loyalty is a major theme in "Lob's Girl." The story explores the loyalty and bond between Lob's dog, Sandy, and Lob's niece, Sandy's descendants, as well as the family's loyalty to Lob's memory and their cherished belongings.

In "Lob's Girl," foreshadowing occurs when Lob's grandmother tells him to always listen to the trees, as they will guide him in times of trouble. This foreshadows how the trees eventually help Lob reunite with his lost love, Sadie. The advice given by Lob's grandmother serves as a hint of the role that nature will play in the resolution of the story.
Well, personally I responded sad to the fact that her dog died, but I also responded surprised to find out that the dog disappeared when Granny Pierce looked to her side. It's not just that Lob dided. In the end, it says - after Granny peirce, Mr. and Mrs Pengelly stop talking - they look at the "wet" footprints on the hospital stairs. Key word there, "wet". It get's you thinking some how Lob was still alive and when he was buried out at sea he finds his was out and gets to the hospital just to see Sandy. The whole point at the beginning of the author saying Lob was trying to get to Sandy was because in the end Lob finds his way to Sandy for, what is it, the fifth time?? and immediately after Lob whines Sandy is out of her coma talking to Lob, of course.
Lob out is British slang for "throw out" As in "I am going to lob/throw out this broken table".
