We do not know anything about what Shakespeare enjoyed or didn't enjoy. He left no records of his personal opinions. However, we can say something about what roles he played. In 1610, a Mr. John Davies, writing a congratulatory poem to Shakespeare said he "played some kingly parts". One hundred years later, Shakespeare's first biographer Nicholas Rowe tells an anecdote that Shakespeare played the part of the ghost in Hamlet. As dubious as many of Rowe's stories may be, this corresponds with what Davies had to say, and so is believable. Certainly Shakespeare, with his prematurely bald head, must have been able to successfully play older men. Other roles that people think Shakespeare may have played are Adam in As You Like It and King Henry in the Henry IV plays.
If I'm not mistaken Shakespeare's favorite role to play was the ghost in the play Hamlet.
