What role did humans have in creation?

Our role is to perfect the world after God finished creating it. This is called Tikkun Olam and is accomplished by obeying God, by doing kindness and charity, and by overcoming our own negative traits.

In the biblical creation, humans play a very minor role as objects of creation. Our role was only to write the story. In the scientific creation, humans play no role.

In the first biblical creation account (Genesis 1:1-2:4a), man (both male and female) were created last of all and were given the role of dominion over the earth. In the second biblical creation account (Genesis 2:4b-25), God created a man, Adam, then created each of the animals and asked Adam to give them names. Then God put Adam asleep and took a rib from him, and created Eve from the rib.

Science says that the world came about through natural forces 4.5 billion years ago. Modern humans evolved, not as the last species of all but at least as a quite recent species, little more than two hundred thousand years ago.
