She assists them in their secret marriage. She passes some messages between the two characters when they are unable to see each other. Romeo also had the nurse tell Juliet to devise a plan to get out of the house and go to the confessions at the abby in the afternoon. He then payed her. The nurse also helped with the rope ladder that Juliet escaped with. She took the ladder for Juliet to use when Romeo's men later came with it. She aided Juliet with her escape to be wed.
The nurse was the personal servant and guardian of Juliet, since Juliet was born. She's a wet nurse, meaning she breast fed Juliet.

∙ 9y agoThey do the opposite thing, and neither works out. The nurse tells Juliet to forget about Romeo and go on living like it never happened. That would be the safe thing to do. Juliet would have been horribly unhappy married to Paris, but she would have still been alive. The friar, on the other hand, offers a risky plan which might end up in happiness for Romeo and Juliet. Juliet chooses the risky plan, knowing it to be risky (although she did not know exactly in what way), rather than the safety and misery of the nurse's plan. The nurse and friar offered options, but Juliet made the choice.

The friar realizes that there is little he can do or say which will influence either of them and tries to help as best he can. His lecture on why Romeo should feel thankful about being banished seems to put some backbone in Romeo. Juliet asks for the nurse's advice but drops her as a friend when she gets it.
