When a rock gets weathered or eroded there are small pieces that come off and become sand. I suppose if the rock isn't strong a larger piece might break off and form a pebble or something small. Otherwise I don't really know what to tell you.
question: What role does weathering play in the formation of soil? answer: soil forms as rock is broken down by weathering and mixes with other materials on the surface.
Erosion and deposition may eventually result in the formation of sedimentary rock.
weathering occurs faster in warm and rainy climate. the rate of which soil forms depends on the climate and type of rock. so soil formation is faster when weathering is quicker too.
Weathering and erosion create the small rock particles that, along with organic matter, make up soils. The same small rock particles can be transported by water and find their way to the bottom of lakes and oceans where they form layers. As more and more layers are deposited, the pressure from the weight above and consolidation of the minerals and the particles may cause them to cement together, creating a sedimentary rock.
yes
Chemical weathering, esp. in carbonate rocks, aided to some extent as the conduit develops by mechanical erosion by the stream.
weathering and erosion helps to build sedimentary layers then sedimentary rocks
Folding and banding
Everything. That's how it was formed. The Colorado River and wind and rain. Also the type of rocks and soil

Breaks down rocks

It breaks rock into smaller pieces that are more easily moved by the agents of erosion.
