The most common are atherosclerosis and cancer. As you get older, your body decides to replace less and less of your elastic tissue when it needs replacing. Instead, it replaces your elastic tissue with scar tissue.

This is why we get all wrinkly when we get old, our skins are full of scar tissue. Unfortunately, the same thing happens to our arteries.

Arteries need to stretch and contract, if they don't then things can get stuck in them and that can cause a heart attack or a stroke. This wouldn't necessarily only happen to a person with poor diet, it could happen to any person who is particularly elderly. And I'm sure you know what cancer is, just a terrible mutation on a cellular level. We're all ticking time bombs, it seems.
