All cells stay alive due to the presence of nucleus. Once nucleus removed, the cell cannot sustain. It has been proved by an experiment on an amoeba cell. The nucleus is the main centre which controls all cell activities.
Ernest did an experiment where he shot alpha particles into a gold foil that proved the concept of a nuclear atom, that is an atom with a nucleus made of protons and neutrons and have electrons moving around the nucleus in some way. His experiment did not show the position of electrons or energy levels or even how they moved.
It's not that it's not correct, it was that the experiment proved it wrong. And it is helpful because it tells the scientist that their idea was incorrect do to speak and that the experiment proved it. You can still write a very good report if the hypothesis was proven wrong
no i belive he did the gold foil experiment which proved the existence of the nucleus, he fired protons at an atom and 1 in every 30,000 bounced back.
Rutherfords experiment proved the existence of a nucleus as some alpha particles "bounced back" from the gold foil sample . Thomson model did not involve a nucleus and predicted just a slight deflection or none at all.
Rutherford came up with the basic structure of an atom using his gold foil experiment. He shot alpha particles(hydrogen nuclei) at a peice of gold foil and watched the results. He found from this experiment that the atom contains a dense, positively charged nucleus, negative particles in "electron clouds" and is made up of mostly empty space.
