The Featherlight Deerslayer 12 gauge is a hunting rifle made by the Ithaca Gun Company. These guns are very modern and are worth around 1,000 dollars.

I'd like to know too! I have an opportunity to purchase a "new" looking deerslayer that I am told is ten years old. The seller wants $500. Is that too much?
Technically they are both "Featherweight", but the Deerslayer had a shorter barrel with rifle sights for shooting slugs or buckshot. It could also be fitted with a scope.
I'm not familiar with the "red buck" terminology. Is that a Deerslayer model? If so, a 12 gauge in good condition will probably be worth $350 - $450.
My husband has an Ithaca 16 gage pump deerslayer shotgun that is over 50 yrs old is very good condition with both barrels what is it worth today? <><><><> If you write in this part, your question goes to the "already answered" bucket- caught it by chance. There are multiple versions of the Ithaca Deerslayer, and prices will vary to some degree, depending on EXACT model and EXACT condition. For an average Deerslayer, value could run from $200-$300.
What is the condition of the gun and the barrel length?
Watch Gunbroker.com - they often have barrels listed. Also you might try Ithaca Gun USA, a company that has picked up the rights to manufacture the Model 37.

The Deerslayer (not a Deluxe and without a Roman numeral suffix), in perfect 100% condition, has a book value of $300.
First, if it is a 16 gauge I don't think that it is a Deer Slayer. From my knowledge and experience, Ithaca only made the Deer Slayer in 12 and 20 gauge. Second, what is the model number? There were two different model numbers with the Deer Slayer name attached to them. Wrong. I own a 16 gauge Ithaca with the deerslayer barrel. It was my fathers and his father's before him. It's a Model 37. Indeed I as well own a 16 ga deerslayer, from 1970 .they are few and far between but yes the did make it,and in my mind the sweetest shotgun i ever put in my hands light fast and amazing accurate with beautiful checkering and for myself being a left handed shooter the bottom eject is excellent for not ejecting empty shells in the way of field of vision
