A:The New Testament was not written in a coordinated way, section by section. Hebrews and the genuine epistles of Paul were no doubt written well before the gospels, as probably was the Epistle of James. Other epistles were written in the second century, after the fourth gospel had been completed, and these include Titus, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Jude, 1 Peter, 2 Peter and the epistles of John. Revelation is generally dated to late in the first century and, on that basis, probably around the same time as Luke's Gospel but before Acts of the Apostles and John's Gospel.

The Book of Deuteronomy is believed to be the earliest completed book of The Bible, in much the form we have today, written during the seventh-century BCE reign of King Josiah. However, Micahand the first 39 chapters of the Book of Isaiah are a little older.

Parts of the Books of Genesis and Exodus are thought to be particularly ancient, dating back to the ninth or tenth century BCE.
