Sedimantary Rocks
These rocks are formed from th ehot lava
Jk jk i was bored i dont reall know what they mean and i real HATE STAaR
Sedimentary rocks form from sediments. Sediments are loose materials such as rock fragments, mineral grains and bits of plant and animal remains that have been transported and deposited. Layer upon layer of sediments build up as more and more sediments are deposited in a place. Each upper layer presses down on the layer below it. The pressure causes the layers to stick together or become compacted and form solid rock. This happens when the sediments are small. Sand and pebbles are sediments that are large. Large sediments cannot be compacted. They are cemented together naturally from minerals dissolved in water. The cemented sediments form sedimentary rocks. Most sedimentary rocks form as layers. The older layers are at the bottom because they were deposited first. ^_^
A sedimentary rock is formed from sediments, that is particles of preexisting rocks that have been broken down by weathering process and transported to new locations by water, ice or wind. The sediments accumulate over time as layers deposited parallel to the Earth's surface and, as they become buried by overlying deposits, they harden to form rock - sedimentary rock. During their deposition process, they may include burrows, shells or bones of living creatures and these become fossils as the sediments harden.
Sedimentary rocks are rocks formed from sediment building up.
Sedimentary rocks are formed when loose particles are pressed together by the weight of overlying sediments. These sediments are rock particles such as mud, sand or pebbles.
They are called clastic sedimentary rocks.
No. The rocks you describe are clastic or detrital sedimentary rocks.
Clastic Sedimentary Rock- Sedimnetary rocks formed from fragments of rocks cemented together by minerals such as calcite.Chemical Sedimentary Rock- Sedimentary rocks formed from a solution of minerals (such as halite) and water.Organice Sedimentary Rocks- Sedimentary Rocks formed from the remaints of dead sea animals and seashells.
Clastic and nonclastic
Chemically formed sedimentary rocks are formed from dead remains of plants and animals that is from an organic sediment.
Chemical sedimentary rocks are formed by the precipitation of minerals from water.
Organic Sedimentary Rocks are formed from remains of plants and animals.
Clastic sedimentary rocks and Cataclasites (a form of metamorphic rock) are formed from broken rocks.
Sedimentary rocks are usually formed in water, but not always. Some sandstones, for example, form in deserts.
Sandstone rocks are formed from sedimentary rocks. It is when sedimentary rocks are broke down into small pieces.
They are called clastic sedimentary rocks.
Clastic sedimentary rocks are formed from particles of pre-existing sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous rock that are deposited, compacted, and cemented together by natural processes.Clastic sedimentary rock is made of fragments of rocks cemented together by a mineral such as calcite or quartz.
No. The rocks you describe are clastic or detrital sedimentary rocks.
Rocks made from sediments being compacted & cemented together.
No, because a sedimentary rock is formed from pieces of other rocks.
