The basic shape of a volcano is like that of a cone with it's bottom faced downwards towards the earth and the top pointy hole part facing upwards towards the sky! However there is a type of volcano which has a plain shape and that is a dead or an extinct volcano!
Cone
Volcanoes have different shapes depending on the type of volcano it is. Fissure vents are merely cracks in the ground from which lava emerges. Shield volcanoes, such as Olympus Mons on Mars, ooze runny lava, thus they are much wider than they are high, giving a profile similar to that of a flat shield. Lava domes are conical in shape, whereas stratovolcanoes gradually slope up from the sides.
Volcanoes can form 3 different shapes;
SHIELD VOLCANO is wider than its high.
COMPOSITE VOLCANO looks like a tall moutian.
CINDER CONE VOLCANO is a cone shaped hill.

Kilauea is a shield volcano.
Well it depends on how bad the lava flow is. If the lava is flowing slow then the shape of the volcano won't change much, But if it flows with force then bits of the volcano will fall off and change the shape of the volcano. Hope this answer helps!!
