Your shot gun uses a 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge shell. Your shot gun was Winchester's answer to the Browning self loader which was introduced prior to the introduction of the Winchester Model 1911SL (self loading). This shot gun was not a "Hit" on the market at the time and was only manufactured for 15 plus years. Examples on the market today do not have a great deal of value at resale. The wood forearm and stocks on these models were prone to cracking over time.

The letters MOD1911S.L. stand for Winchester model 1911 self loading shotgun.these shotguns were made by Winchester from 1911-1921.they were recoil operated, with either a 26in or 28in barrel.pistol grip laminated birch stock.I may add that some production was done from 1921-1928 also. There were 103,246 made. The old nickname for this shotgun was the headbuster, due to some design problems with the action.I hope this helps.
