The called the Costa Concordia, the ship that sank in late January, the second Titanic because it was the most devastating shipwreck since the Titanic.
The most famous ship to not recieve Titanic's distress calls was the SS Californian. The reason it's so famous is because it's the only ship that was without a doubt close enough to arrive in time to save all on board. It didn't get the messages because its radio was off (it was not common for ships back then to have all-night radio service).
its called the titanic becasue Titanic means big and tough and its undescructable. its called the titanic becasue Titanic means big and tough and its undescructable.

It is documented that the Titanic's distress call was picked up by The Mount temple, Frankfurt, Carpathia, Prinz Adalbert and the Titanic's sister ship the Olympic. The ship that responded (was nearest) was the Carpathia, and this picked up the survivors.
First class women @children. Elizabeth Walton Allen was the first Titanic survivor to board the Carpathia after this ship responded to the Titanic's SOS call.
Titanic was the largest ship in 1912.
a ship called the carpathia it rescued 706 survivors. the carpathia was 58 miles from the titanic when it sent the destress call
Today, ship-to-ship communication could be through internet or simply the telephone (or skype or other means) but in the time of Titanic, messages were sent either by wireless telegraph, or if in sight by Morse lamp, or even by rockets (eight of which were launched from Titanic).
Titanic was the largest ship of its kind when it was built
