The Pokéathlon Prize Counter will sell Evolution Stones. The Prize Counter will only sell the Water Stone on Wednesdays, the Thunderstone on Thursdays and the Leaf Stone on Saturdays prior to your in-game character receiving the National Dex. Once you have the National Dex then it will sell the Evolution Stones daily with the Sun, Water, Shiny and Dusk Stones being available on Mondays. The Water, Dusk and Dawn Stones are available on Tuesdays while the Moon Stone, Thunderstone, Dawn Stone and Shiny Stone are available for Wednesdays. For Thursdays, the Fire, Leaf, Dusk and Shiny Stones will be available while for Fridays, it will be the Water Stone, Dusk Stone, Sun Stone and Dawn Stone. Saturdays will be selling the Shiny Stone, Thunderstone, Dawn and Dusk Stones while Sundays will be selling the Shiny, Fire and Dawn Stones.

Additionally Bill's Grandpa in Bill's old house in Route 25 will give you some Evolution Stones as well. He will give you a Fire Stone provided you have a Growlithe with you in your party in Pokémon HeartGold or a Vulpix in your party in SoulSilver.

In order to receive a Leaf Stone from him, you will need to have an Oddish with you.

He will give you a Thunderstone as long as you have a Pichu with you and he will give you a Water Stone as long as you have Marill with you in HeartGold or Staryu with you in SoulSilver.
