Check the battery, failing that call an auto locksmith who can reset it or re program a new one.
It doesnt have a switch. You just open it with your hand. It does have a lock which locks it with the central locking so it should unlock when you unlock the car.
You need to hold the central locking button down and turn the ignition on and the off, Should work.
it should be in the same spot as the other fuses, but if u have a problem with your central locking you may just need to clean and lube the central locking units to get them working properly. My central locking on my 95 ef station wagon wouldn't work till i cleaned and used a bit of WD40 on the tail gate central locking unit and its been great ever since it should be in the same spot as the other fuses, but if u have a problem with your central locking you may just need to clean and lube the central locking units to get them working properly. you should be abble to open the driver side door or the bood, and the open the rest from inside
if removed and replaced properly the interior locking button should always work.
I have had this problem. The central locking system checks that all of the doors are closed when it is activated. So it has a loop of wires that goes through all the doors (when the doors are closed the loop is complete and the central locking stays locked) What is happening is, some of the wires in the loop have snapped, his happens in the doors, (if you look in the door when it is open, on the hinge side, you will see a black rubber tube that contains the wiring). All of the door wiring will need to be checked and broken wires repaired - this should solve the problem.
9 times out of 10 its because of the side door there is a little black switch on the door that pops out when the doors open and back in when its closed this tells the locking system that its not locked so it re opens the doors try uncliping the switch and locking this should work Another problem that causes this is a broken earth wire to the door locking motors both front and the rear doors,it doesnt seem to matter about the side door.
Have you checked the central locking fuse (should be in the car, not engine bay) that would be linked to the immobilizer but if the car starts while the Central locking doesn't then changing the fuse might solve the problem.
You should be able to open it with the central locking device as well as with the key itself. By turning the key in a clockwise direction on the drivers side and anticlockwise on the passengers side it should open all the doors. luwelynt.co.za
it is very unlikely. i have never seen a vw golf sdi from 2000 onwards without the central locking as standard. i have one the same model and bought it new, it was a standard feature on this model at least for the golf's we got in malta. js
doesnt matter,it want hurt.
Connect a slave battery to the alternator live terminal and an earth. Then the central locking should work.
