It helps to know the level of Jewish observance of your hosts. Fresh fruit is inherently koshere. A bottle of kosher wine (unopened) is safe. Liquor has a place in the tradition. Prepared foods become problematic if the guest does not routinely keep kosher. It is never impolite to ask what you should bring.

YES! But if you aren't invited why would you go? It is rude to go to a party uninvited.

When extended an invitation can I bring a guest?

Sometimes. On a mailed invitation, if you are invited to bring a guest, the envelope will either say "John Doe & Guest" or the host will enclose a note notifying you that you can bring a date. In a more informal event, it depends on the method of invitation and type of event. Check with the host if you are unsure. If a mailed invitation is addressed to you and no guest is mentioned, you are invited alone.

As etiquette when you're invited to a party who should call on the following day to say thank you the host or the guest?

I got a wedding invite and on the RSVP there's no mention of a guest or a date. Does this mean only i am invited and cannot bring a date?

If you are single it is assumed that you may bring a guest, unless the invitiation explicitly states otherwise.

What is an uninvited wedding guest?

An uninvited wedding wedding guest is someone who did not receive an invitation to the wedding. Even if that guest feels they should have been invited they should not attend unless they received the wedding invitation. If your boyfriend or girlfriend was invited to the wedding they can invite you as their guest as all wedding invitations ask if that person who received the wedding invitation is bringing a guest.

Should I bring a gift at restaurant birthday dinner or do the guests pay for the person's bill whose birthday it is or both?

If you were invited to a birthday party at a restaurant by someone other than the Guest of honour, then check with them. Generally speaking the host is the one to pay for the guest of honour. You should be prepared to pay for your own meal and drinks and bring a gift for the guest of honour unless the invitation says "no gifts" in which case a card is appropriate.

What is an invited visitor?

A guest.

Is this sentence correct - You family and guests are welcomed to attend?

A guest is someone who has been invited to a program. So in my knowledge, it will be inappropriate to say or use "invited guest". Thanks

Can you take a guest to a wedding shower?

* If a guest should be from out of town then you could call the person giving the wedding shower and ask them if it would be alright to bring your guest. If your friend has not been formerly invited to the wedding shower then they shouldn't go. If she is a close friend of the brides and you feel a mistake has been made and she has been over looked then you should speak to the hostess by phone regarding your friend.

Is it proper etiquette to send a wedding gift if you are not on the guest list?
