The same thing that must be done when ever a vehical looses its ability to go down the road by its own power:

If you are still moving, pull off the road in as safe a spot you can manage.

Use reflective markers, four way flasher etc to mark the car as disabled.

Do not get out of the vehical until there is no chance of someone running into it.

If this happens when the car is not moving:

Activate 4 way flashers, deploy reflective devices to warn other drivers the car is disabled.

Get to safe location
