Get over it. He made a mistake. You may point it out to him nicely of course. BTW it does not hurt or he may have felt that the pool needed it. BTW there is a mode in the salt system to shock the pool thru the system.

Salt water pools are in fact chlorine pools part of the salt is turned into chlorine by the salt water chlorinater If it works in a normally chlorinated pool it should also work in a salt water pool. However you should check if there is any metallic ingredient like copper in it as these are not recommended in salt water pools.

Yes, of course. As long as the amount of chlorine in the water is as directed by retailer there should be no reason one could not swim in a pool while it is being chlorinated.
