What should be in an ideal hermit crab habitat?

A large tank, (10-30 gallons would be nice), Gravel or coca nut bedding. A thing that they could hide in like a coca nut hut. You should have too bowls of water not too deep. One salt water and one fresh water. You should also have a sponge that is always soaked or your hermit crab could die even though you have water bowls. You should also have a shell that is a little bigger then your hermit crabs so they can move into it when they molt. the temp should be humid at 70 degrees F.

Most hermit crabs are omnivorous and serve as predators and scavengers. In their biotic role, they strip other animals (and crabs) of their flesh and allow their exoskeletons to be exposed to salt water, which facilitates the calcium carbonate weathering and freeing up calcium for other creatures to grow shells from. The PP or Caribbean purple pincher hermit crab(Which is the kind you would mostly buy as a pet)

Its enviorment is the Caribbean, or tropical climate. they are known for climbing trees. they live in groups up to hundreds. they only climb the first line of trees because they don't want to leave the ocean. but they can drown in water.

they are also scavengers so they eat dead fish on the shore, fruit fallen off of trees, they also even climb the trees to eat bugs.

hermit crabs are also nocturnal which means they are more active at night.
