What should i do for my unromantic girlfriend for Valentine's Day?

WOW! I can't believe I'm getting to this too late! There is a guy out there actually putting effort into being romantic??? I'm shocked.

In the future I would say that you should never believe a girl that says she is not "into the romance thing". It's a lie. I don't know why we do that! I don't know why, but in the beginning of a relationship we're programmed to say things like "I don't care about flowers" or "They're just a waste of money" or my personal favorite "They're just gonna die in a few weeks anyway". I'm telling you right now, it's all BULL!!!!!! We don't want to seem demanding or to complicated, but the truth is that we're all little girls inside. We want flowers and romantic men. Men underestimate what flowers will do for them. ALL WOMEN WANT FLOWERS. There is absolutely nothing like getting flowers from your boyfriend. Knowing that he was thinking about you, and OH the effort! Don't forget how much we love not having to tell you guys to be romantic. And there is nothing wrong with being traditional. I know that everyone is getting flowers and candy on Valentines day, but it's Valentines day. I like that stuff, and all my friends do too. My boyfriend gave me a funny card this year and I cried for 2 hours.

If your girlfriend is truly not romantic....she'll still love getting flowers from you.

i'd say the author of the above response has no idea how sexist she sounds and how inexperienced with people and reliant on stereotypes she actually is.

i'm an American man in love with a German woman, and i can tell you: there are some very unromantic women out there (and yes, Ms. Inexperienced Respondent, there are actually very romantic men too - though we often show it in our own ways which you may or may not recognize as romantic). i came here looking for help with the same question because i'm way more romantic than my girlfriend, and i don't want to waste time and money on something (like roses) that most American women swoon for but that my German girlfriend will glance at, say, "oh, isn't that nice" so as not to completely dismiss my effort, and then forget she ever saw. and someone expressing shock at my being romantic because i have a penis, and then telling me my unromantic girlfriend (whom she's never met) is all kinds of romantic...well that's just not helpful at all. can anyone give a useful answer to the question?

Try to understand why your girlfriend might not be as romantic as you'd like her to be. Perhaps she has a different love language or isn't as comfortable expressing romantic gestures. Instead of focusing on traditional romantic gestures, consider doing something that shows thoughtfulness and understanding of her interests and preferences. Pay attention to the things she enjoys and plan a day or evening that incorporates those activities.
