What should i do if my dad is getting me a horse which has always been my dream but he's getting it for the wrong reasons?
Don't let him get the horse! They require too much attention, money (feed, blacksmith, vet, equipment, shavings, hay (good hay), monthly wormer,....the list is never ending.
If you are inexperienced with horses then try leasing one from a boarding farm before buying! Its a good introduction to what time, energy and $$ is required.
Not saying that owing a horse is too much trouble - its not - its wonderful but too many people get into horses before they should and the animal ends up suffering.
Go lease and learn - then buy!
