Hi there, my child is in a childminders which I find increasingly cold. Now she is a wonderful childminder and the children love her. However, my child is cold and constantly has a cold and all the kids have layers on them when they are there. Now what is the correct room temperature? I find that between 18-20 degrees is a nice 'comfortable' room temperature so that kids can kick off their shoes and play comfortably without the Rudolf nose and icy hands which kids usually have. Now I did comfront my childminder - which was really hard to do but I did it in the nicest way possible. I offered more money for oil, a heater or to get her rads checked for air blockages. Now all she said was that she doesn't feel the cold and finds its bad to have kids in too warm an environment -no wonder they have colds!!! So even though I said it there will be no change. So now I feel better for having said it but bad because she didn't meet me half way or agree to take up any of my offeres and my kid is still cold. He's a little boy of 2 and a half and I have a thermal vest, 2 t-shirts, a fleece jumper, socks, navy tights (for boys) and trousers on him - that to me is too much clothes but if i didn't have it on him he'd be colder. AND of course no-one else has said anything but that's because its an awkward situation and I'm now the baddy. Roll on the summer.
