What should you do if a dentist broke your tooth a couple of years ago while trying to pull it and you did not go back but now it hurts on and off and can this cause cancer?

It won't cause cancer but it can cause a serious infection in your jaw. When the tooth broke it probably cracked without first bothering the nerve. But the crack has probably widened, exposing the nerve and causing the pain. If it hurts on and off by itself without you drinking hot or cold fluids, it sounds like the nerve. You probably need a root canal. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DENTIST OR A DENTAL SCHOOL IMMEDIATELY! ~ T
