Not necessarily. While raccoons are nocturnal, it is not uncommon to see them out during the day as well. However, if the raccoon appears disoriented, aggressive, or is foaming at the mouth, it may be displaying symptoms of rabies and you should keep your distance and contact animal control.

If you do have raccoon urine on a carpet you have a problem. I just recently learned on Animal Channel that raccoon's urine contains a parasite that can be transmitted to humans. You need to get a very strong disinfectant on that carpet. Call your local vet to see what you should use.
The raccoon has its own distinctive footprint unlike that of any other animal. See th image above of a raccoon's paw.
There is no subspecies called the pygmy raccoon. See this link.

Camping is a great way to take a break from your regular life, and go see the outdoors. When you go camping you will have the chance to see all types of wildlife, and do fun activities, like fishing or stargazing. It is also a good way to learn more and be aware about the environment, and to *i think* earn a badge if you're in scouts.
they're almost like a dog's teeth but a lot smaller.
