It is below the engine (under the lower fairing cowl). The plate that holds it is a circular object with a bolt in the center and spokes radiating out from it. The bolt is unscrewed and the filter comes out.
It could be anything, but the first thing that comes to mind is a tumor. You should get to a doctor and have it checked out.

It should be located on the lower driver's side corner of the radiator on the engine side. It might be an actual plug (usually white or black plastic) that needs to be unscrewed. Or it might be a petcock (looks much like a wing nut) that needs to be loosened (don't try to remove it, just turn it clockwise until the coolant flows).
