Wrap the specimen in a plastic and/or foil and take it to your vet to be identified. It could be roundworms or tapeworm or something else. The treatment is different, so you need to know what kind it is to determine how to get rid of them.
If you take your puppy to the vet they will usually be able to sell you a course of medicine to get rid of the worms.
You should discuss appropriate deworming drugs and preventative deworming programs with your veterinarian.
Sometime if it is a cat or dog, it will squat instead of sitting. Just make sure you worm it every 6 months anyway and you should be alright!Oh and you might want to take it to the vet.
