In my own experience (I own two of these, their one of my favorites!) my ghosts like to be fed a varied diet. Keep in mind that these fish are omnivorous; live foods, beefheart, shrimp pellets, chopped earthworms, snails, small fish and worms- mine love bloodworms too!
Knife fish have large appepities and should be fed accordingly, if they are not properly nourished, they may hunt other fish in the tank. Be careful when having smaller fish in the same tank as these guys- if it can fit in their mouths, beware!
As always, live foods are beneficial. Black Ghosts are very quick at detecting the smell of food. Even when there are just a few pieces and the other fish have gotten to them, you can expect your Knifefish to be out immediately, zig-zagging and looking for it.
Enjoy!

It depends. I have a glass knifefish and a parrot fish and the 6 inch knifefish is allways being attacked by the 3 inch parrot fish. I know oscars are very aggresive and knifefish are not to mean. So only if he can stand up for himself.
BGK can be short for black ghost knifefish, which is a tropical fish belonging to the ghost knifefish family (Apteronotidae).
