You will want to set your thermostat at a few degrees higher or lower than when you are at home. This will help maintain the "ecosystem," for lack of a better word of your home. If it will be cold while you are gone, it is wise to leave some heat on to protect your pipes and to help maintain the humidity in the home so that your furniture does not go through too much of a change. It is tempting to turn it off while you are gone, but preventing the extremes of temperatures (in Arizona, your home can easily reach 90 degrees in the summer or go down to 40 in the winter) will keep drywall and other fixtures from being affected by the changes in humidity and temperature.
