It seems to me that no matter what people say children are going to do this to themselves. Be warned serious infection is probable when working on yourself. But to answer the question you need a 14g. or LARGER (larger being preferable) piercing needle. NOT a safety pin!
If u r dead set on piercing your own lip but can't get a profesional needle i would say that (out of personal exsperience) if u do use a safety pin it is sooo much more probable to get an infection but it might work out eventually.(it did for me)But if u decide to be stupid and do it with a safety pin than i wouldn't cry about it later because U WERE WARNED!
