"A" urine test shows whatever the tester is testing it for and that is limited.
They (medical professionals, gov't, parents,etc..), have tests for many, many things that the body excretes when you void urine. Your DNA, drugs you are metabolizing ("weed" is a drug by the way so it should not be listed as "weed" and drugs!), diseases, naturally produced chemicals and enzymes your body needs or produces to survive, performance of many bodily functions, bacteria, food and liquids you have ingested, .
All these things have "A" test designed to look for that item or condition specifically, and some tests are joined with others as a specific group of tests. No one 'Urine test" tests for whatever is available to know and if it did, it still could not test for everything about you.
Urine Tests are specific and if it is for employment they will test for a garden variety of drugs and if you smoke pot, take any narcotic, benzos Valium or Xanax even Soma will all likely show up. They may or may not check for alcohol depending on company.
A Probation U/A would test for almost all street drugs, all narcotics and commonly abused prescription drugs also for alcohol and especially for pot and Cocaine.
