west end girls 1986
1986 for West End Girls
The Pet Shop Boys redid The Village People's song, Go West and released it in 1993.
'Shopping' was never a single, but it appeared on the 'Actually' album in 1987.
Starting out, the two called themselves West End, because of their love of London's West End, but later they came up with the name Pet Shop Boys, which derived from some friends who worked in a pet shop, in Ealing. They said that the new name "sounded like an English rap group."
The song "New York City Boy" by the "Pet Shop Boys" was released on the album "Nightlife". This was their second single off this album, and was released in September 1999.
