looking forward in the boat, the left side is the port, the right side is starboard, the pointy end is the bow, and the back is the stern.
The stern is the back or rear of a boat. The bow is the front.
The stern
the quarter on the port stern side of the boat.
a stern-wheeler is in the middle of the boat , like a propeller . a side-wheeler is 2 wheels on bot sides of the boat
The stern of a boat is the rearmost portion of the boat or ship. The stern usually has a tiller or other steering device that helps the boat turn, The stern might also have the motor of the boat if the boat has an outboard motor. By tilting this motor from one side to another it helps the boat turn. The propeller in this area also makes the boat move through the water.
The Port side of a boat is the LEFT side of the boat.FYI:Starboard is the right side of the boatThe Bow is the frontThe Stern is the back
The right side of a boat when looking forward from the stern
Ha! You made that one tough...you didn't say whether you were in the boat facing the stern, or outside the boat facing the stern. Anyway, it's easy. If you're in the boat and you're facing forward (the direction of travel), the right side of the boat is the starboard side. Think of a car driving down the highway (in the US), the passenger is on the starboard side and the driver is on the port side.
if you're facing the stern of a boat and turn ninety degrees to your right, will you be facing the starboard side of the boat?
The stern is the back side of the boat or ship, it is the exact opposite end of the boat from the bow or front. It is technically defined as the area built up over the stern post, extending upwards from the counter rail to the taffrail. On older sailing vessels, the stern of the ship was often the location of the captain's quarters.
When on board and facing the front of the boat where is the stern
If a person is in front of a boat right side is starboard, left side is port, front of a boat is called Bow and back is called Stern.
