Answer:

Idolatry -- [which is not only the 'most mentioned'... but also the 'longest Commandment']: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; and shewing mercy unto thousands [or the thousandth generation] of them that Love Me, and keep My Commandments." (Ex.20:4-6)

"...rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry..." (I Sam.15:23).

"...all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens." (Ps.96:5)

"Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made..." (Isa.2:8).

"...'Every man is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. His images are a fraud; they have no breath in them." (Jer.51:17 NIV)

"Because of your detestable idols, I will do to you what I have never done before and will never do again. Therefore in your midst fathers will eat their children, and children will eat their fathers. I will afflict punishment on you and will scatter all your survivors to the winds. Therefore as surely as I Live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your vile images and detestable practices, I Myself will withdraw My favor; I will not look on you with pity or spare you." (Ezek.5:9-11 NIV)

"Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone." (Hosea 4:17 NIV)

"Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." (Jonah 2:8 NIV)

"...I will destroy the carved images and cast idols that are in the temple of your gods. I will prepare your grave, for you are vile." (Nahum 1:14 NIV)

"...I will banish the names of the idols from the land..." (Zech.13:2 NIV).

"...abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood." (Acts 15:20 NIV)

"So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but One... there is but One Lord, Jesus Christ... But not everyone knows this. Some people are so accustomed to idolsthat when they eat such food they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled..." (I Cor.8:4-7 NIV).

"What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?... Therefore come out from them and be separate..." (II Cor.6:16-17 NIV)

"...They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the Living and True God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead..." (I Thess.1:9-10 NIV).

"Dear children, keep yourselves from idols." (I John 5:21 NIV)

"...I have this against you... she misleads My servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols." (Rev.2:20 NIV)

"...they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood -- idols that cannot see or hear or walk." (Rev.9:20 NIV)

The Bible's definition of "sin" is: "...sin is the transgression of the law." (I John 3:4). That is... sin is the "breaking of the Ten Commandments."

"...I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet." (Rom.7:7)

The most frequently broken law is actually "two." They are the two "longest" Commandments: "Idolatry and Sabbath-breaking."

"...they despised My judgments, and walked not in My statutes, but polluted My Sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols... I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols." (Ezek.20:16-18)

"...hallow My Sabbaths; and they shall be aSIGN between Me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God." (verse 20)

"...they... polluted My Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols." (verse 24)
