Well, I would recommend preparing for learners permit practice tests by practicing with past learners permit practice tests. However, there is also the option of studying.
Ask your school guidance counselor for a practice learners permit test. They will often have other suggestions to help you in your search. I have also gone to the Motor Vehicle Department website and found sample tests that helped reduce my fear significantly.

I would search for free driving tests for your particular state. Although most laws are the same from state to state some may differ. I did find a free practice permit test online at www.drivingdirectory.com/test, but I have not personally tried this out.

Nobody knows. If you get the Driver Study Guide they have some sample questions over each chapter. There are some websites that you can get on also to take practice tests but those aren't going to be the exact questions on the test. :)
A good site to start with would be the Alberta Motor Association's website (see related links below), which has a free practice exam on their website. If you want to practice the test for learner's permit for any other province you can go to the Young Driver's website (see related links below) and practice the questions online and for free. Just select the province you live in.
