The height of the pony isn't really what determines the size of the cooler, it's the length of the pony and the cut and style of the cooler. A fitted cooler or shaped cooler must cover the shoulders and buttocks of the horse, for this you will need to measure from the point of the shoulder backwards to the point of the buttocks. If the size is odd round up to the next even size (i.e if the pony came out at 45 inches long you would round to 46 inches). For a square cooler you should measure along the pony's top-line from the poll to the tail head area, again rounding up the size if it is a odd number.
