For banquets, a 6 ft (72inch) round table is typically used to seat 10 people comfortably
A 65-inch round table will comfortably seat eight people. Many tables of this size come with a leaf that can be added in to accommodate more people. Adding one leaf will allow two more people to be seated.
It depends on the shape of the table. A square table about 6' on each side would easily seat 10, 5' would be possible but probably not comfortably. A round 8' diameter table would work. A banquet table 2.5 X 10 will seat 10 with 4 on each side and one on each end.
There are a few different standard sizes of round dining tables depending on how many people you're planning to seat. For sitting 4 to 6 people, a round dining table should be 44 to 54 inches in diameter. If you're look to seat more people, a table with a diameter of 54 to 72 inches seats up to 8.
Depending on the people, you need to figure about 36 inches of space per person. So a table for 24 would need to have a perimeter of 72 feet! If the table is required to be round, then a diameter of 72/pi or 23 FEET is required. Nobody has a table that's 23 feet in diameter. King Arthur's mythical Round Table may have been that size, perhaps. If it existed, it was probably toroidal (doughnut-shaped, with a hole in the center) to allow servants to put food on the table.

To measure a round table accurately, use a measuring tape or ruler to find the diameter of the table. Measure across the widest part of the table, passing through the center. This measurement will give you the accurate size of the round table.
