I know on my cavalier which is a 2001 it is possible to re route the serpentine belt away from the air conditioner compressor. I was having trouble with mine popping the belt off. Hope I helped you out.
kinda behind the a/c compressor, you have to take out the serpentine belt and lose the a/c compressor.

i am looking for an answer to this question myself. i cant seem to find a place that makes the bypass pulleys for the 3.5 liter g6. im also not sure if u can just reroute a shorter belt, as there may be another pulley in the way. if i figure it out i ll repost. if u find the answer yourself, please let me know with a repost
You have to use the same belt and install a dummy pulley kit in place of the ac compressor.

The 4.6 liter is ( 215 horsepower ) and the 5.4 liter is ( 230 horsepower ) in a 1997 Ford Expedition
It can always be bypassed, how else would they install aftermarket alarms. Check Future Shop or Best buy for bypass modules. $45
