The first thing I would tell you is to check with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in the state where you live. My son and I have Jeep Wranglers. His is a '98, mine is an '02. His Jeep has a 3 inch lift and big tires, mine has standard factory size wheels and tires. The first time I tried to take his through inspection, they told me the tires stuck out more than 2 in. past the fender flares and that it wouldn't pass. So, I went home, got out my floor jack and jack stands and swapped wheels and tires so his would pass. I wound up buying a new set of extended fender flares from quadratec.com and haven't had any problems since.
