A torx driver for 1998 Dakota tail light would be size 3157. It is really easy to put in.
3157 would be the bulb size/number. The Torx driver would be a number 15 or 20.
To change the taillight bulb in a 1998 Toyota T100, first, open the tailgate and locate the two screws securing the taillight assembly. Remove these screws and gently pull the taillight assembly out from the body of the truck. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it, then pull out the old bulb and insert the new one. Finally, reassemble the taillight by reversing the steps and ensuring everything is securely fastened.
The OBDII diagnostic plug is under the dash on the driver side.
You just have to pull back the trim in the trunk to access the fasteners for the taillight assembly.

I believe it is 2 torx screws inside the tailgate holding the assembly. Have to replace the whole assembly.
youll most likely have to buy the whole hub assembly. I had to do that to my 94 dodge dakota.
If it is like a 95 or 96, you raise the rear hatch and right above the drivers side taillight assembly, there is a filler flap.
THERE IS NO PARKING LIGHT LENSE FOR THE REAR. IT'S ONLY THE TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY!

Remove the tail light assembly, then disconnect electronics from vehicle. On back of assembly, turn the bulb dial to unlock. When it stops, keep turning past the tabs (use a tool to encourage if necessary) and the dial will come out of the unit assembly with attached bulb. Replace bulb and reconnect.
