To remove a stubborn tub drain using a tub drain wrench, first, ensure the wrench fits securely onto the drain. Then, turn the wrench counterclockwise to loosen the drain. Apply steady pressure and use a lubricant if needed to help loosen the drain.
The one that fits.
A 35mm wrench....
Why not just try different size metric sockets until you find the one that fits.
Don't use a wrench, use a socket. It will be metric, so just try your metric sockets until you find the one that fits.
The oil drain plug for a 2004 Ford Explorer typically has a size of 15mm. It's recommended to use a socket or wrench that fits this size for proper removal and installation. Always ensure to check for any specific variations based on the engine type, as some configurations may differ slightly.
As you face the front of the vehicle, the drain plug is on the left side of the engine. The oil filter is on the right side (driver's side). You will need to lift the driver's side of the vehicle slightly to access the oil filter. The engine cover must be partially removed to access the filter. You need remove only 4-5 screws (a 10mm socket wrench or box wrench is better than using a Phillips screwdriver to remove these). Once you remove these screws, you can pull down the cover and access the filter. An oil filter wrench (cup type that a 3/8ths socket wrench fits into) that fits over the end of the filter is the easiest way to remove the filter. When you put the new filter on, be sure to wipe some oil on the gasket. Hand tighten it, then turn it no more than a quarter of a turn with the wrench. You will need 14mm wrench to remove the drain plug. Be sure to recycle the used oil. Plan for 5+ quarts of oil.
The oil filter is on the drivers side of the engine. It fits into a canister, using a 24mm wrench to remove.
18mm
One that fits.......
Should be 195/70R14.
A 10mm wrench, or if you don't have metric wrenches, a 13/32 wrench.
