What skills are required in wrestling?
In pro wrestling, natural athleticism is a must. Coordination is also a big one. Most importantly, you need to be able to think clearly during a major adrenaline rush, while being slammed, suplexed and pounded on, so that you remember where you are and the story you're trying to tell. Also, patience. Nobody gets good overnight. Most guys on TV took five years or more to even get noticed in the business.
If you attend a good wrestling school, all of the things listed above will be developed. I've found that there's no real way to tell if someone is good or not until they go to a wrestling school and try it.
What defines a good professional wrestler are good mic skills, charisma, looks and the most important thing - good in-ring skills and the ability to make every match memorable. Therefore, nobody can just go out there and be impressive. Special training is required, which is why WWE require at least 3-5 years of professional wrestling experience.
