Hello, I am not an expert but here's what I think... - First of all it depends on what kind of group it is. - In any group you should start off by introducing yourself to the group and prefarably have an ice breaker to loosen things. - If your group meets to discuss some topic come prepared with ideas to share and also suggestions for questions posed in last meeting. - Ask people for their ideas and this way you include everyone in the group and value their opinion. - Never attack someone by criticizing them too much. - Try to grasp the mood or style of the group and even if that is not your way of doing things you should initialy agree and get along. - The leader of the group should be respected especially if it is workplace and you should try and impress them. - Finally when it comes to difficult people try ignoring them or ridicules yourself and make a joke of it. Only if it is a serious attack on you, you should tell them to shut up.
