I have used 5 basic skills that have helped me in everything I do. First, I have learned to listen...not just hear but really listen to people when they talk. I'm not trying to formulate an answer or a counter argument but really listen. Second, I can speak clearly and understandably and sometimes seem rather intelligent. I'm able to speak one on one, to a small crowd or even to an audience like a classroom. Third, I didn't know it then but I thought typing class in high school was dumb, a waste of time and I'd never use it after I got out of school but here I am typing this answer. Fourth, basic math skills. Nothing fancy but enough to balance my check book, know when something is a good deal or not, and generally keep myself out of trouble financially. Finally, writing skills. I can put together sentences, make sense (much of the time) so that I have written two books and am working on a third.
