You would for sure on the lower arm to keep the arm raised to minimize swelling and pain.
It will have no affect for the upper arm (above the elbow).
Yes. It might sting some afterwards. Try not to touch your arm after you burn it. Use Aloe to soothe the burn.
It's used to sling up an arm if it's broken or something along those lines.
The sling is used on an unmended fracture not merely to support the arm but also to keep the patient from using his or her arm as it is normally used. Once the fracture begins to mend the physician usually will allow the patient to discontinue the use of the sling but it can be used if the arm hurts and it feels more comfortable in the sling. I have found another great reason for the sling. It gets others to treat you tenderly and carefully so you don't get re-injured.
If you wanted to be a Doctor what would you use for a sling a scarf old cloth
No, it will burn your skin; use soup
The best thing to use as a sling is a smooth stone.
One of the better ways would be to use a sling psychrometer.
Depends. In the Sling and Swathe you use two bandages. You tie them together at the short side and place the knot at the elbow. One bandage will wrap around the neck and be tied behind the neck to support the arm from being lowered. The "swathe" will be tied around the persons chest, catching the arm and being tied under the opposite arm pit (if your splinting the right arm, you would tie it under the left arm pit). The Swathe prevents the patient from moving the arm out from the body. A sling only is tied behind the neck. Make sure you always pad the area behind any not. There are numerous ways to do this. This is how I do it in the field. There is no wrong way providing the arm is immobilized and there is no further harm to patient. This is a skill that is hard to describe in writting and you really need to practice it. One of these days I will post a video on you tube as to how I do it.
If a triangle is available, that is the best solution. Otherwise, use anything you can find to comfortably (for the patient) immobilize the injured arm.
There are some initial steps one can take for an injury to the arm. The arm should be kept stable, through the use of a sling if possible. An ice pack could be applied to reduce the swelling and then the patient should attend the nearest accident & emergency department.
i believe you would use the same set up as you would for a pump shotgun
i would use inches
