Our dog just ingested ibuprofen today - we are not sure how many pills in the bottle were already used by us, but there were now 20 missing. our guess is that he consumed between 0 and 10 accidentally because he left the rest all over the house after he realized they did not taste good and just wanted to chew the bottle. Anyways, if this happens to you, you should immediately induce vomiting... a table spoon of hydrogen peroxide will do the trick. Then you should get to an animal hospital that has overnight care because he will need iv's and gi protectants for 2-3 days. If this all happens in a timely manner then the drug may not have time to cause kidney failure.

Take the dog to the vet nearby.

when i took my dog to the vet, the antibiotic they gave her was the same thing my daughter had at home, i told him that and he said if i had enough left which i did cause getting a teenager to finish meds is almost impossible that i could just give it to my dog and it was the same thing. my friends vet tells them to give their dog benedryl for itching so i don't see what any other medicine would hurt.
