No, there was no such thing as a "good" concentration camp!
Prisoners of war in World War 2 were treated under the Geneva convention for combatants. They would not have been sent to concentration camps. If you had been put in prison for a crime, there was a good chance you would end up in a concentration camp.
Good question. I know that they guarded their hats with their lives, so i would assume that they kept their shoes in bed with them when they slept, otherwise naturally they were worn.
Japanese-Americans were placed in Internment Camps, hardly a Concentration Camp. While not a good thing, they were much better off than the European Civilians that were interred by the Japanese.

I do not think so. I know though that he was taken by the Natzis when the Concentration Camp he was at was freed. He was probabley killed though. P.S. Read the Boy Who Loved Anne Frank. It was so good and talks about what Peter Van Daan would have done if he survived the holcaost.
